1,571 Entrants At BCA Scotland Cheerleading Competition
(Scotland) - The BCA Scotland Competition at Braehead Arena on Sunday welcomed 138 team entries from 31 clubs, showing a further 27% growth in the popularity of this premier cheerleading event.
Teams from 31 clubs came from as far as Aberdeen Chester and Belfast. The most successful club was J.C. Pompoms of Glasgow winning six of the 27 divisions. Scottish Bluebells from Dundee won five First Places. Teams from A.C.G. Cheerleaders, Champion Dance and Cheer Allstars, and Renfrewshire Cheerleaders each won three divisional titles.
Our aim is to make performers feel like Stars in front of the most appreciative audience you could ever wish for, with as many as possible going home with an award to be proud of. The British Cheerleading Association is a non profit organisation with a membership of almost 400 clubs throughout the UK. The sport has an excellent safety record. 434 coaches safety training courses are being taken this month around Britain.
In addition to cheerleaders and coaches attending there were 1,899 tickets sold, underlining cheerleading as a rapidly rising spectator sport.
Braehead Arena is an ideal venue, Situated off J26 of the M8, and just 3 miles from Glasgow International Airport. The Arena is part of Braehead Shopping & Leisure Complex, with 6500 FREE parking spaces and numerous food outlets. 820 buses stop here every day.
