SPIRIT INDUSTRY TRADE ASSOCIATION (SITA) CONDUCTS QUARTERLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING

(Atlanta, GA) - The Spirit Industry Trade Association held its third quarter meeting on October 17th & 18th, 2005. Twelve Company members and ten affiliate members including all four officers were in attendance. Lisa Saline, Chairperson for SITA presided over the meeting.

There were several highlights from the meeting emerging from the committee reports. SITA Election Committee presented the election results for the 2006 SITA board seats. The board is comprised of eight company seats and one affiliate seat completing the board of 9 seats. Company members that were elected are Kim Dornak of ECDA, Darren Thompson of Cheer Ltd., Steve Wedge of COA, Lisa Saline of UPA, Serena Andrews of Atlantic Championships, Liz Rossetti of Americheer, Mike Stamper of America Cheer & Dance Academy, and Kevin Jones of America’s Best. In addition to the company members one affiliate member was elected to the board from Inside Cheerleading.

Other SITA committees presented updates to on going projects. The Philanthropic Initiative Committee reported on the contest to find a team in need and present them with a red carpet year to include prizes valued over ,000 donated by SITA company members. The membership committee reported our current member status at 13 Company members and 12 Affiliate members totaling 25. New membership fees were established to include a Full Company Membership, Affiliate Company Membership, Limited Company Membership, and new this year an International Company Membership. The Annual Meeting Committee reported on our 2006 annual meeting that will take place on a Carnival Cruise to Key West and Cozumel from July 13th to the 17th, 2006. The meeting and banquet will include the SITA awards will all take place on the ship.

Reports were also heard from the Fundraising Committee, Calendar Committee, Rec/School Committee, Site Selection Committee, and the Budget Committee.

To create a forum that represents and promotes the interest and advancement of the spirit industry.
