COACHING RECOGNITION

The National Cheer Conference - "CheerCon" -continues to recognize outstanding coaches in the spirit industry. Along with another great conference, accomplished coaches and exemplary new coaches to the sport are honored throughout the weekend. For both award groups - The Pinnacle Awards for Coaching Excellence and The Thirty Under Thirty Awards, the process begins by a nomination. Nominees are notified and then the National Selection Committee selects those top coaches who will join the previous inductees based on an interview, nomination information, references, and career achievements. All winners will be chosen prior to the conference and notified no later than March 2, 2009 in order to plan to attend the Awards Banquet held at the conclusion of the conference in May.

Pinnacle Awards for Coaching Excellence

The Pinnacle Awards for Coaching Excellence seek to identify and honor the most  accomplished and professional coaches in the spirit industry. The selection committee will carefully study each nomination submitted and will recognize individuals who are responsible for significant coaching achievements and success in the spirit industry.  A numbers of factors will be weighed, including but not limited to:

• Size and scope of coaching responsibilities
• Accomplishments over the entirety of coaching career
• Particular achievements within the last 12-24 months
• Creative and innovative coaching methods
• Scope of influence within specific area of coaching expertise
• Specific coaching results driven by the ideas, methods, and execution of the nominee, including team growth, former cheerleaders’ success, and other achievement criteria unique to nominee.

A successful candidate for a Pinnacle Award must be a leader within the coaching ranks of the spirit industry and the information must specifically address each of the above factors. The form below is only for those individuals who have already been nominated and must provide more information regarding his/her accomplishments. Nominations were accepted through December 31, 2008. Nominations are now closed. If you have been nominated, please complete the information below.

Thirty Under Thirty Awards

The Thirty Under Thirty Awards seek to identify and honor the best up and coming young coaches under thirty years old in the spirit industry. Through a careful study of each nomination submitted the committee will recognize talented and innovative coaches who are under thirty. A numbers of factors will be weighed, including but not limited to:

• Size and scope of coaching responsibilities
• Accomplishments early in her/his coaching career
• Involvement in the industry
• Creative and innovative coaching methods
• Specific coaching results driven by the ideas, methods, and execution of the nominee, including team growth, former cheerleaders’ success, and other achievement criteria unique to nominee.

A successful candidate for a Thirty Under Thirty Award must be emerging as a leader within the coaching ranks of the spirit industry and the information provided must specifically address each of the above factors.
