National Cheer Judges Certification Information

If you love cheerleading, then the National Cheer Judges Certification is for you. There are many advantages to earning your certification.

All-Day Course
Cheer Ltd’s National Cheer Judges Certification (NCJC) clinics now feature an expanded, all-day format – with additional video training on the technical aspects of judging. Taught by highly qualified instructors with National Elite Judging Certification, NCJC clinics allow you to obtain one of four levels of certification, depending on your existing experience and performance during the clinic:

Intern Certification allows you to gain experience judging alongside nationally certified judges

Intermediate Certification permits you to judge at the local level

Standard Certification allows you to judge at local, state, and regional levels

Full Certification means you can judge at all levels including national competitions

Note: Certifications are valid for three years. You must be 18 years of age to earn your certification.

Program Goals & Objectives
Our goal at Cheer Ltd is to make available to the cheerleading public a group of nationally certified cheer judges who are capable of providing fair and standardized judging at any cheerleading event. We believe we can accomplish this by enabling judges to learn and implement a precise and proven method of judging.

Objectives for course participants include:

• To become knowledgeable on cheerleading terminology and theory
• To recognize fundamental and specialized cheerleading skills
• To understand the psychology of judging
• To gauge the level of performance of cheerleading squads
• To be able to apply knowledge gained to any judging or instructional setting
• To be able to ballot systematically and consistently, with emphasis on constructive comments

NCSSE CERTIFICATIONS

The National Council for Spirit Safety and Education offers courses all over the U.S. as well as internationally. State Directors organize and teach the following four core classes: Cheer and Dance Principles and Ethics, Program Management and Cheer Fundamentals, Coaching Stunts and Tumbling I, Coaching Stunts and Tumbling II. Upon completion of these four courses, a Master Level Certification is achieved.
